About Sanjukta:

Sanjukta Bhatta had taken interest in music from her childhood as she grew up in a family full of musical culture in Calcutta. Encouraged by her mother she started taking her lesson at the age of 5 years in vocal music from her aunt who was a famous vocal singer.

Sanjukta used to participate in all community functions and was always a star performer in various musical functions held by communities.
As she grew up her family encouraged her to study music at the Rabindra Bharati University of Calcutta. There she graduated with first-class in Hindustani classical vocal as her Major.
She completed her master’s degree from there while working as a music teacher in a local school.
Looking at her hard work, tenacity and good vocal singing skill, Pandit Dr. Amiya Ranjan Bandhopadhy agreed to give her advanced lesson.
She learned considerably from Pandit Ji regarding the various advanced aspects of Khayal, Thumri and Bhajan, etc. especially those based in Bishnupur Gharana.

During 2008 Sanjukta had to relocate to Banglore along with her family.
She was fortunate to find Urban Raga in Banglore and thankful to the Founder Mr. Bidyut Chakrabarty who encouraged her to join the school which enabled her to remain in touch with the subject she adores so much.
She has been appreciated by her students and their families a lot for her sincerity in teaching and improving their ability to perform vocal music.
Her hard work, love for music and bonding with her students has enabled the majority of her students to secure Distinction in the Vocal Music examination held under Chandigarh Board.
